What Is a Suction Discharge Hose?
A suction discharge hose is a large bore rubber hose reinforced with high tensile synthetic plies and an embedded helical steel wire. The helix is what lets the hose hold its shape under negative pressure, so it can pull fluid on the suction side of a pump as well as deliver it under pressure. A discharge-only hose has no helix and will collapse under vacuum.
The FLEXI HOSE® 10 bar series covers six products for the Saudi market: water, oil, bulk material, dry cement and fly ash, sand blasting in textile ply, and lay flat discharge. They share a common pressure platform — 10 bar / 150 psi working pressure, 30 bar / 450 psi minimum burst, 0.9 bar vacuum on suction grades, supplied in 20 metre coils — but the tube compound, cover, outside diameter and service temperature differ product by product, and those differences decide which media the hose can carry.
