Suction Discharge Hose Supplier in UAE — 5 Proven Grades at 10 Bar

A suction discharge hose is a large bore transfer hose reinforced with a helical steel wire so it resists collapse under vacuum as well as pressure. The FLEXI HOSE® suction discharge hose series runs 19 mm to 203 mm bore at 10 bar / 150 psi working, 30 bar / 450 psi burst and 0.9 bar vacuum on the suction grades, in 20 m coils.

What Is a Suction Discharge Hose?

A suction discharge hose differs from a delivery hose in one respect that governs everything else: it has a helical steel wire embedded in the wall. That wire is what stops the bore collapsing when the pump is pulling rather than pushing. Every suction discharge hose grade in this series is rated 10 bar / 150 psi working and 30 bar / 450 psi burst, and the suction grades add a 0.9 bar vacuum rating. Standard coil length is 20 m.

What varies across the range is not the pressure but the tube compound and the abrasion resistance, and that is where a UAE requirement usually gets decided. Dredging and land reclamation, bulk cement and aggregate handling at the ports, fuel and bunker transfer at Fujairah, and construction dewatering all call for a suction discharge hose — but an SBR tube built for water will not survive fuel, and an NBR tube built for oil is wasted on a dewatering line.

Five suction discharge hose grades are exported to the Emirates: water, oil, bulk material, lay flat discharge and dry cement or fly ash. Bore coverage runs from 19 mm on the smallest water and oil sizes to 203 mm across most of the series, with the dry cement grade catalogued to 14 inch and customised sizes above that. For lined chemical transfer the UHMWPE hose covers the duty instead, and the abrasive blast line sits on the UAE industrial hose range.

Suction Discharge Hose Size Tables — Water and Oil Grades

Working pressure, burst pressure and vacuum are flat across every bore in this series. What changes with size is the outside diameter, so the tables below are read for O.D. and coil length.

Comparing the two tables at the same bore shows the practical difference: at 6 inch the water grade is 166 mm outside diameter and the oil grade is 171 mm, because the NBR tube and the additional copper wire add wall thickness. If a suction discharge hose is being ordered to replace an existing length on fixed couplings, the O.D. column decides whether the ferrule still fits. Full specifications for each grade are on the UAE water suction hose page and the UAE oil suction hose page. The 8 inch water size is the one exception on coil length, catalogued as 10/20 m rather than a flat 20 m.

How to Select a Suction Discharge Hose

Medium, then suction or discharge only, then bore, then abrasion, then coupling. Getting the first two right eliminates most of the range immediately.

01

1. Start with the medium, not the bore

The tube compound is the difference between grades. SBR for water and sewage, NBR for fuel and mineral oils up to 50% aromatic content, and abrasion resistant NR/SBR for cement, fly ash, gravel and sand. Putting a water grade suction discharge hose on a fuel line is the single most expensive selection error in this series.

02

2. Decide whether you need suction at all

The helix wire and the 0.9 bar vacuum rating exist for pumps that pull. If the line only ever discharges under pressure, the lay flat grade does the same job, stores flat and handles far more easily on a temporary run. It carries no vacuum rating, and that is by design rather than an omission.

03

3. Size the bore on flow rate

Suction discharge hose bore coverage runs 19 mm to 203 mm on water and oil, 25 mm to 203 mm on bulk material and 40 mm to 203 mm on lay flat. Because working pressure is flat at 10 bar across every size, opening the bore for flow does not cost pressure rating on this series — which is the opposite of how the hydraulic and PTFE ranges behave.

04

4. Check the abrasion duty honestly

Sand in a dewatering line is still an abrasive. A water grade suction discharge hose handling silty water from a reclamation site will wear from the inside, and the bulk material grade with its highly abrasion resistant NR/SBR tube is the correct answer even though the medium is nominally water.

05

5. Read the outside diameter before ordering couplings

O.D. varies between grades at the same bore — 166 mm against 171 mm at 6 inch, for instance. On a replacement order against existing ferrules or clamps this is the number that decides whether the fitting can be reused, and it is checked far less often than it should be.

06

6. Plan around the 20 m coil

Standard coil length is 20 m across the series. On the dry cement and fly ash grade the maximum falls with bore: 20 m to 8 inch, 15 m at 10 inch, 12 m at 12 inch and 10 m at 14 inch. A run designed in 20 m increments will not translate directly to the largest bores, so the coil table is worth checking at design stage rather than at delivery.

Where Suction Discharge Hose Is Used Across the UAE

Dredging, bulk cargo handling, bunkering and construction — four duties the Emirates run at a scale that makes large bore transfer a routine purchase rather than an occasional one.

Dredging and land reclamation

Reclamation and channel maintenance across the Gulf coast move sand and silt in volume, and the pump is pulling as often as pushing. This is the suction discharge hose duty where the helix wire and the 0.9 bar vacuum rating are doing the work, and where an abrasion resistant tube outlasts a plain water grade several times over.

Bulk cement and aggregate at the ports

Cement, clinker, fly ash and aggregate move through Jebel Ali, Khalifa Port and Port Khalid continuously. Ship-to-silo and silo-to-truck loading is exactly the loading and unloading duty the bulk material grade is catalogued for, and 6 inch and 8 inch suction discharge hose bores are the working sizes.

Bunkering and fuel transfer at Fujairah

Fujairah is one of the largest bunkering hubs in the world, and the oil grade with its NBR tube and NBR/PVC cover is specified for fuel and mineral oils up to 50% aromatic content. Tank farm, barge and truck loading connections are where a flexible suction discharge hose replaces fixed pipework.

Construction dewatering and site water

Excavation below the water table is normal across coastal Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Dewatering pumps run on the water suction discharge hose in 3 inch to 6 inch bores, and the lay flat grade handles the discharge leg where the run is temporary and has to be lifted and moved between pours.

Quarrying and cement plants in the Northern Emirates

The Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah quarry belt supplies aggregate across the region. Wash plants, slurry transfer and dust suppression all use large bore transfer, and the abrasion resistant suction discharge hose is the one that survives a crushed rock circuit.

Free zone stock for onward re-export

A 20 m coil is a stockable unit. Distributors in Jebel Ali and Khalifa Industrial Zone hold the common bores of each grade for onward movement into the wider Gulf and East Africa, where a suction discharge hose is often needed the same week rather than the next quarter.

Why Buy Suction Discharge Hose Direct from the Manufacturer

Vardhman Hydraulic Hoses Pvt. Ltd. has manufactured under the FLEXI HOSE® brand since 1980, from a single plant at Bhiwadi, Rajasthan.

02

Factory direct, no trading layer

You buy from the plant that mixes the compound and builds the hose. That means the specification you are quoted is the specification that is manufactured, and a technical question is answered by the people who made the product rather than by a reseller.

03

Five grades, one pressure rating

Because every grade shares 10 bar working and 30 bar burst, a mixed order is straightforward to specify and to store. A distributor can hold water, oil and bulk material suction discharge hose on one rack knowing the pressure ratings do not need cross-checking.

04

Compound built for the duty, not adapted to it

SBR, NBR and abrasion resistant NR/SBR are mixed in house for their specific service. The copper wire in the oil and bulk grades, and the helix in every suction grade, are part of the build rather than options, which is why the vacuum rating holds across the full bore range.

05

Large bore capability to 203 mm and beyond

Most of the series runs to 8 inch, and the dry cement grade is catalogued to 14 inch with customised sizes available above that. Large bore is where trading companies most often cannot supply from stock, and where a manufacturer relationship earns its place.

Large bore coils are bulky rather than heavy, so container fill is usually the constraint on a suction discharge hose consignment rather than weight. Consolidating across grades and with the industrial and hydraulic families makes better use of the box. Fujairah sits outside the Strait of Hormuz and is the fastest route at 3–5 days, which suits bunkering and quarry customers on the east coast directly.

People Also Ask

Short answers to the questions UAE marine, construction and bulk handling buyers search for most often.

What is a suction discharge hose?

A large bore transfer hose with a helical steel wire in the wall, so it resists collapse when a pump pulls as well as pressure when it pushes. The FLEXI HOSE® series is rated 10 bar / 150 psi working, 30 bar / 450 psi burst and 0.9 bar vacuum on the suction grades.

What bore sizes are available?

19 mm to 203 mm on the water and oil grades, 25 mm to 203 mm on bulk material and 40 mm to 203 mm on lay flat. The dry cement and fly ash grade is catalogued from 2 inch to 14 inch with customised sizes above that.

Does a suction discharge hose lose pressure rating at larger bores?

No. Working pressure is 10 bar / 150 psi at every catalogued bore across the whole series, and burst is 30 bar / 450 psi throughout. That is unlike the hydraulic and PTFE ranges, where pressure falls steeply as the bore opens.

Which grade suits fuel and diesel?

The oil grade, with a smooth black NBR tube and an NBR/PVC cover. It is catalogued for suction and delivery of fuel and mineral oils with aromatic content up to 50%, at −20 °C to +80 °C.

Why does the lay flat grade have no vacuum rating?

Because it has no helix wire. It is a discharge-only hose, which is what lets it flatten for storage and transport. If the line has to lift or the pump pulls, a helix reinforced grade is required instead.

What coil lengths are supplied?

20 m as standard across the suction discharge hose series. The water grade at 8 inch is catalogued as 10/20 m, and the dry cement grade reduces with bore: 20 m to 8 inch, 15 m at 10 inch, 12 m at 12 inch and 10 m at 14 inch.

Suction Discharge Hose — Frequently Asked Questions

Specification, construction and export questions, answered from the FLEXI HOSE® catalogue.

High tensile synthetic plies with a helical steel wire embedded in the wall. The plies carry the pressure and the helix resists collapse under vacuum. The oil and bulk material grades add a copper wire alongside the helix. The lay flat grade has plies only and no helix, which is why it is discharge-only.

0.9 bar on the water, oil and bulk material grades. That is the negative pressure the bore will hold without collapsing, and it is what allows the hose to sit on the intake side of a pump rather than only on the delivery side. It is catalogued at every bore in those grades.

Water and lay flat are −30 °C to +80 °C. Oil is −20 °C to +80 °C. Bulk material is −20 °C to +75 °C. Dry cement and fly ash is −30 °C to +70 °C. The differences follow the tube compound rather than the construction.

Two do. The bulk material grade covers cement, fly ash, gravel and sand from 25 mm to 203 mm bore in a highly abrasion resistant NR/SBR tube. The dedicated dry cement and fly ash grade covers 2 inch to 14 inch plus customised sizes, with test pressure at 1.5 times working and burst at 3 times working.

The dry cement and fly ash grade is supplied with or without end connections. For the other grades, send the coupling requirement with the enquiry and it will be quoted against the mean outside diameter of the grade and bore selected. Supplying the O.D. from the table above is what makes that quotation accurate first time.

On solids content rather than on the name of the medium. Clean water and sewage suit the SBR tube. Water carrying sand, silt or crushed material wears an SBR tube from the inside, and the abrasion resistant NR/SBR tube of the bulk material grade will last considerably longer on the same duty.

Chemical duty is handled by the UHMWPE chemical and food grade hose, which is lined rather than rubber tubed and is rated 240 PSI / 16 BAR from 3/4 inch to 4 inch. Chemical grades are not part of the export range offered on this page; send the medium and the requirement will be directed to the correct product.

Yes. Shipments are made on FOB, CIF or CFR terms ex Nhava Sheva (JNPT) or Mundra Port and consigned to whichever UAE port and address you nominate, free zone or mainland. Every consignment carries commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, bill of lading and test certificates.

Large bore coils fill a container by volume long before they reach the weight limit, so the answer depends on the bore mix rather than on tonnage. Send the full requirement and the load plan will be worked out against the actual sizes, usually consolidating with smaller bore products to use the remaining space.

Grade, internal diameter, total length, the medium and its solids content, whether the line runs under vacuum, coupling type and the discharge port. With those seven items a suction discharge hose quotation can be issued without a clarification round, which is what makes same-day turnaround possible.
